LITIO 1.x for BricsCAD and ZWCad - Overview

LITIO 1.x is a sheet metal add-on for BricsCAD, that calculates and draws the flat sheet development of ducts, rectangle-to-round transitions, cylinders, cones, pipe intersections, connections, bifurcations, elbows, etc. It is very easy to use and very versatile. It is ideal for the sheet metal-processing industry: for HVAC, hoppers, cyclones, dust extraction, ducts, conveying systems, silos, piping, etc.

LITIO is a third-party application that is compatible with BricsCAD and ZWCad. LITIO addon works within BricsCAD v.11 and higher (either Classic, Pro and/or Platinum). It does not need the BricsCAD's Sheet metal module. LITIO addon works within ZWCad v.2017 and higher. It does not need ZW3D.

Calculating a sheet metal development:

First, you have to choose a pattern:

3D Object, Development, and 2D Contour...

After finishing the input of parameters, the program draws the 3D object and the respective development.



Afterwards, you can use the 2D developments for CAM cutting (plasma, laser, etc.) or manual cutting, by plotting them 1 to 1 (1 d.u. = 1 mm or 1 d.u. = 1 inch) to get paper templates and using them to mark the metal sheet and cut.

Setting preferences...

At the main dialog box you can go to the Settings dialogue. The following settings are available:

  • Dimensions: Inside, outside, or mid cross sectional dimensions.
  • Height: Inside, outside, or mid height.
  • Draw: You can select to draw or not the 3D surface (it has the dimensions and hight set in input), and the unfolded sheet, either as a mesh (to help you when bending the sheet), as 2D contour (to ease cutting).
  • Precision: You can also select the precision of the calculation of the developments.


Metric Units/Imperial units: LITIO automatically sets its units according to the units used in the current drawing session (according to the values of MEASUREMENT and LUNITS system variables). (Refer to your BricsCAD/ZWCad user manual for further information on Metric and Imperial units, and on the use of MEASUREMENT and LUNITS system variables).
